Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign Set to Launch Vultures

Kanye West, also widely known as Ye, teamed up with Ty Dolla $ign to stir the music scene. The highly anticipated joint album titled “Vultures” is set to hit the market on December 15. This news was casually revealed by Kanye during an unplanned music playback in Miami over the past weekend. For any budding verification, representatives for both music artists have been contacted by the FADER. But, as of yet, there’s no official word.

Months of Speculation Put to Rest

This collaborative venture between the two high-profile artists has been in the rumor mill for quite some time now. Back in October, whispers were strong regarding the duo showcasing their album to audiences in Italy whilst in search of an appropriate music label to distribute their finished work. Meanwhile, fans couldn’t help but anticipate updates from the elusive pair. The Miami revelation successfully put a cork on the swelling rumors.

Ye’s Miami Appearance

This past weekend, Kanye West was spotted partying in Miami and meaningful snippets from those parties are drawing attention on social media. One particular video clip revealed Kanye playing a fresh track that incorporates elements from “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back),” a hit single from Backstreet Boys’ 1997 album. Clearly recalling the Yeezus era, UK-based DJ and producer, Evian Christ, claimed on Twitter that he masterminded the remixing of the Backstreet Boys track. However, his publicist debunked that claim to The FADER, stating, “This is not genuine. Evian Christ is not producing for Kanye West.”

The Album’s Lineup and Tracklist

Ty Dolla $ign gave fans a sneak peek into the journey ahead by sharing the album’s tracklist on his Instagram a day before the official announcement. Not just resting on the laurels, Ye created a fan frenzy when he played a medley of new songs from the album at a Miami club on Sunday night (December 10). From tunes featuring top artists such as Quavo, Young Thug, Future, Nicki Minaj, and many others; it seems like the duo has a star-studded lineup ready to rock.

The album is fittingly titled “Vultures,” visible on a jacket that Ye’s been sporting in recent photographs. Interestingly, it’s also a track name which features Lil Durk and was released just a month ago in November.

Controversy Surrounding Ye

If all unfolds as planned, the launch of Vultures will mark Ye’s first album release since his career hit turbulent waters in late 2022. Kanye faced severe public backlash following baseless antisemitic remarks he made, which subsequently led to the termination of numerous business relationships. Notable firms such as Adidas and Def Jam, along with the prestigious talent agency CAA, ended their contractual ties with him. Balenciaga, his lawyer, and a film studio which had a finished documentary lined up about the artist, also severed their working relationships.

The Hopeful Comeback

This collaboration between Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign, given their last successful partnership in the 2021 release of “Junya Pt.2” from the Donda album, might just be the comeback that both artists and enthusiasts are praying for. In the meantime, Ty Dolla $ign’s latest solo single “Motion,” released last June, continues to keep fans entertained. These marquee artists hitting the studio together again is surely a sign of electrifying music to come.
